Great video, laying down some really helpful basic beat making techniques

This site focuses mainly on the making of beats for Techno and other Dance music, though, being into Hip Hop, I have still found it useful, lots more info on there too.
Producer and engineer Pete “Jazdout” Weis launched GNX Music in October of 2004. The page I have linked is a simple tutorial on making beats, though there is a huge amount of other info.

A great site, this particular page focuses on the elements of a good Hip Hop Beat, there is also a massive amount of other related information. I've used this site many times.
